THE DOORS

Oliver Stone made a movie years ago that started with the quote "There are things that are known and there are things unknown and in between are the doors." Then later on with the background of a heavy rock beat and a panoramic desert fly over the lead character says the following "let me tell you about heartache and the loss of God, wandering, wandering in hopeless night.

The story is about a real person who at the age of 5 witnessed the death of an American Indian in a car crash and was convinced that the spirit of the dying Shaman entered into his soul and stayed. The story of Jim Morrison lead singer of a rock band known as "The Doors" is a modern day tragedy. Yet, the story is as old as man, yes even Adam. I would say to go out and rent the movie but it is shocking, vulgar, lust filled and in a way hypnotic, just like most of the portrayals of heroes in the Roman and Greek Tragedies. It is a real glimpse of the spiritual dark side of existence with its highs and lows, just the kind of story that makes for a great biblical sermon.

I will stay my temptation to do a teaching of what the character of the movie did right or wrong. I would rather focus on a concept I was teaching long before I saw the movie that God showed me one night while trying to witness Christ to a New Age Spiritualist. It is all about the "Doors".

I was sitting there with this guy and we were talking about what was important to him about his beliefs, the 'I'm OK your OK", "everything is God", you know, the usual. And I stared up to a large framed picture on the wall that was kind of psychedelic. It was a large multi-faceted multi-colored geometric polygon. It must have had a hundred sides all around in a big circle and every one a different color emanating from a center circle kind of like a dart board. My attention had wandered away from the conversation and the words he was speaking drifted off into a muffled quietness. About this time I heard "there it is, look", "none of the facets reach the center, I'm in the center and none of the doors lead to me, but one" and I began to teach what God had shown me to this nice but "lost" fellow. It is a basic need or drive for mankind to strive to enter into the Spirit Realm. Shamans, Witch Doctors, Eastern Mystics, Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, Benedictine Monks, etc. from every race and culture try to enter in. They use mantras, meditation, yoga, peyote, mushrooms, opiates, music, Entheogens and Extheogens of all types to summon the gods within or the gods without.

In our modern age things aren't so different. People everywhere are looking to fulfill this need to operate in the invisible kingdom the spirit realm. They use drugs, sex even music. Most of them don't even know or are rationally conscious of what or why the do it, this need is so strong.

Here are some truths about this phenomenon. First of all there are a plethora of "Doors" that give people access to the "Invisible Kingdom". All these "Doors" are manned. They have "toll takers" because entrance is not free. The more power you want, the higher price you have to pay. On the low end just a little of your faith or belief is necessary. Just another little piece of your soul. ?"Have another little piece of my heart now, baby, You know you got it if it makes you feel good".? (Janice Joplin - Died from heroin overdose) Remember whatever you believe in you are brought in bondage to. On the high end it takes much more. Here is where blood is required. The blood of a chicken is sprinkled in Voodoo for a small curse but it takes a goat or sheep for a bigger one. Don't get squeamish on me now, because the Bible is full of these kinds of offerings. You can't come to the altar of power without blood.

In some religions even a "higher" offering is needed. In Baal worship it was the blood of their children, the more innocent the blood the more power it has. It is not a coincidence that the blood of an infant has almost the highest power in the "Door" system. The demons that man those doors are powerful and they want a fitting sacrifice for their service. A toll must be paid for entrance.

In this country how many innocent babies are sacrificed on the altar of militant feminism? What spirits do you think empower that group? The goal is still power and that door does lead to a god, however not to Jehovah God.

Everyone is familiar with the cliché about throwing virgins into the volcano to appease the volcano god. The truth is many religions sacrificed virgins knowing that innocent blood was the most powerful sacrifice they had. People think these kinds of acts were done in ignorance by unsophisticated savages; on the contrary they all lived by and knew the "door system" to be true. I don't want to loose you now. The Bible is one of the bloodiest books ever written. The word blood is used 447 times, and not just as some kind of prop like a cheap horror novel or movie. In the Bible blood is relevant, has a voice and speaks into the invisible realm. Why did Christ have to die on the cross? Why was His blood required? On what altar was his blood poured? The most pure and innocent blood ever shed on planet Earth. It was to attain the highest power in existence, a payment that would cover all the sins of mankind and redemption from eternal death and separation from God. Christ's blood bought access to the not just the "Invisible Kingdom" but entrance into the "Kingdom of God" even the Holy of Holies of Heaven, a place where the blood of bulls and goats can't enter, the "Ultimate Door".

Let's see what the Scriptures say?

Hebrews 9:6-8 And these having been prepared thus, the priests go into the first tabernacle through all, completing the services. (7) But into the second the high priest goes alone once in the year, not without blood, which he offers for himself and the ignorances of the people; (8) the Holy Spirit signifying by this that the way of the Holy of Holies has not yet been made manifest, the first tabernacle still having been standing;

Hebrews 9:11-14 But Christ having appeared as a High Priest of the coming good things, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation, (12) nor through the blood of goats and of calves, but through His own blood, He entered once for all into the Holy of Holies, having procured everlasting redemption. (13) For if the blood of bulls and goats, and ashes of a heifer sprinkling those having been defiled, sanctifies to the purity of the flesh, (14) by how much more the blood of Christ (who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God), will purify your conscience from dead works, to serve the living God!

Hebrews 9:21-24 And he likewise sprinkled both the tabernacle and all the service vessels with the blood. (22) And almost all things are purified by blood according to the Law; and apart from shedding of blood no remission occurs. (23) Then it was needful for the figures of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these; but the heavenly things themselves by better sacrifices than these. (24) For Christ did not enter into the Holy of Holies made by hands, types of the true things, but into Heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf,

Hebrews 10:4-10 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. (5) Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: (6) In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. (7) Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. (8) Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; (9) Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. (10) By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Hebrews 10:16-19 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; (17) And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. (18) Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. (19) Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

There is only one door to the Spiritual Realm a person can go through that the price to enter in is already paid for, that door is Christ. John 10:1-2 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. (2) But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

John 10:7-9 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. (8) All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. (9) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

1 Corinthians 16:9 For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.

Colossians 4:3-5 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: (4) That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. (5) Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

James 5:8-9 Be ye also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. (9) Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

Revelation 3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. (authority)

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Revelation 4:1-2 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter. (2) And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

Psalms 24:7-9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates 8179; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors 6607; and the King of glory shall come in. (8) Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. (9) Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

H8179 shah'-ar From H8176 in its original sense; an opening, that is, door or gate: - city, door, gate, port

H6607 peh'-thakh From H6605; an opening (literally), that is, door (gate) or entrance way: - door, entering (in), entrance (-ry), gate, opening, place.

Drug addicts and spiritual wanderers go from door to door. All the doors are deceivers and thieves except one, Christ. Most doors have truth; it is just that they don't have the whole truth. And much worse, some only appear to have truth when it is just a well camouflaged lie. There is an illusion that god is in there and sometimes it is you that is the god. People believe they have reached enlightenment but it is just a dead end and others "ever learning and never come to the knowledge of the truth." (2 Timothy 3:7) There is a door that leads to whatever you think is god

The role of Sound and Music in the "door" system

According to legend the siren's song from Homer's Odyssey, the music drives men mad then lures them to their death among the rocks.

The role of music is to lure the hearer to the "door". Whether it the pounding beat of the voodoo drums, the ringing of the Tibetan bell or the melodic chant of the Hebrew Cantor, the call is unmistakable. It draws the listener in and takes them on a journey. What would church be like without the music? What would draw the worshipers to the threshold of the invisible? It is no wonder that Lucifer was created with pipes and timbrels coming out of his body. As the leader of praise and worship in Heaven he needed them.

Ezekiel 28:13-15 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. (14) Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. (15) Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Have you ever heard a song played on the radio or in a TV show that instantly took you to a place and time in the past and changed your emotional state? Of course you have. The power of sound and music transcends the here and now and transports you in mind and emotion to a certain place, familiar or unfamiliar. Why are sounds so closely tied to our soul and spirit? The entire relationship of the physical and the metaphysical is tied together by it. Words are sounds, groanings are sounds and like blood they communicate into the invisible kingdom. If it were not true, then why should we pray?

Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (and God said?) David knew the power of song and music to give access to God

Psalms 66:1-2 To the chief Musician, A Song or Psalm. Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: (2) Sing forth the honor of his name: make his praise glorious.

Psalms 95:1-2 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. (2) Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

Psalms 98:4-6 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. (5) Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. (6) With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.

Psalms 100:1-2 A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. (2) Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Are we not moved to tears at the sound of a truly spiritual song? Surely we have been brought in through thru the door.

Doors take a toll and give a reward, some are shallow and others are deep and one goes all the way into the Holy of Holies even to the Father of Lights.

James 1:16-18 Do not err, my beloved brethren. (17) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (18) Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
